Ballokai is a small business located in the heart of Central Oregon. Ballokai creates one of a kind handmade pieces of art that merge fashion with environmental sustainability. The business provides a number of local businesses with their high quality products.

Ballokai is the creation of Tracy Curtis. She has always drawn inspiration from her community and children. In 2006, on one of her frequent trips to Sisters Coffee Company, a small locally owned business in Sisters, Oregon, inspiration struck when she saw the mass of unwanted coffee sacks. She began experimenting with different materials and trying them out on her two young daughters. Ultimately the Ballokai bag was born.

Tracy was influenced by her Native American Heritage and decided to name her company Ballokai. A Pomo Native American word for a small village inhabited by the Northern California People.

Two years later Tracy was again inspired when she saw the vibrant gold and silver guitar strings her youngest daughter went through. Instead of simply throwing them away Tracy again decided to turn unconventional material into beautiful handcrafted works of art, which she continues to do to this day.
